The strength of an Indian passport over the rest

A passport is a bit of documentation that allows people from different countries to connect with others, work or travel across borders. It also marks the citizenship and proof of address of an individual. Different countries have passports of various strengths depending on the relationship that country with others. Many countries have political relationships, others have mutual understanding, and others still do not get along which plays an important role when it comes to passports of that country.

Furthermore, travellers need a visa to commute between countries. These visas have to be applied for in advance (in many cases) and are subject to the approval of the country being entered. However, there are many countries with a good relationship with others, so they allow for visas to be provided on arrival without a tedious application process.

Contrary to what many might think, India has a pretty strong passport. According to a website report, people who have an Indian passports can travel to the many countries listed below.

Bhutan, Bolivia, British Virgin Islands, Cambodia, Ecuador, Fiji, Haiti, Indonesia, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Malaysia, Mozambique, Nepal, Qatar, Samoa, Senegal, Serbia, Somalia, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Zambia, are some of the few countries that Indian citizens, with an Indian passport, can get a visa on arrival without worrying about applying for one.

Overall, the Indian passport is not the strongest in the world, but definitely not the weakest. According to a real-time ranking compiled by citizenship-planning firm Henley & Partners released at the beginning of the year, Japan and Singapore have the strongest passports in the world. According to a similar report, India has been ranked 65th in the world.

India is currently working on building relationships with many countries, which should improve trade, along with the travel to new countries. With the fall prices of airline tickets and the increased number of people travelling, there is currently a much larger group of people looking to travel and changing citizenship easily since the world is a much smaller place today than it was a decade ago.
