The RTO making changes to improve processes for citizens.

With the volume of people passing through the RTO office on a regular basis getting larger and larger, the Government is working on improving processes for people throughout the country. Some states like Vadodara have already asked for more space to build larger offices, while others, like Bangalore have begun moving digital already.

Here are a few incidents. About a year ago, Goa saw their main bus stand in the capital on fire. This fire was caused due to a short circuit in the building. There were no casualties, but the entire office connected to the building was gutted causing a lot of stress since a lot of the documents there, were not backed up.

Another fire broke out at Pune as well, but this time at the RTO godown which was used to house all the documents submitted over a long time. This was the second time within the month. There have been a couple of such incidents throughout the country and various departments have started moving to digital means. Goa too has started taking baby steps in the right direction and accepting digital docus. Although a year later, they are still working on making it back to their main office to continue operations.

After gathering a lot of information digitally, India has come a long way in the right direction. However, they have a long way to go and the reasons for this are not only based but connected to secondary factors as well. The country is not internet connected the way everyone would have liked, which makes a digital option tougher. Secondly, the largest part of the country prefers using mobile internet which is generally slower when it comes to form submissions and other internet related tasks.
