Why we are called as "BIHARI"?
Author : Ashish Chandna Wednesday, September 22, 2010

A person from Bihar cannot stand with the fact if he is being called a Bihari by the people from other states. Even I don't like that. Since the time I have been in Bangalore people have been calling me "PUNJABI BIAHRI". It is funny.

As a native Bihari, I know Bihar has been a historical heritage of the country. Earlier know as Magadh. Bihar has been a birth place of Lord Gautam Buddha, Mahaveer Jain and The Great king Ashoka. As a fact, the infamous Kamasutra was written in Bihar.

But let me provide you with some current knowledge. First president of independent Dr. Rajendra Prasad was from Bihar. Also, Bihar has contributed to the Indian (Hindustani) classical music and has produced musicians like Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan who later migrated out of Bihar. Dhrupad singers like the Malliks (Darbhanga Gharana) and the Mishras (Bettiah Gharana), who were patronized by the Zamindars of Darbhanga and Bettiah respectively have produced maestros like Ram Chatur Mallik, Abhay Narayan Mallick, Indra Kishore Mishra.

All this information gives me a feeling of proudness of being a Bihari.

Now let me talk about Bihar from the time it has been ruled by our idiot politican Lalu Prasad Yadav and his illiterate, 4th grader wife Rabri Devi. These two idiots have ruled this state for 15 years. During that tenure they literally destroyed the entire state. They were involved in lot of kidnappings, public harassments, firoti etc. The people who enjoyed each and every bit of it were their close family associates like Pappu Yadav, Subhash Yadav and Md. Shahbuddin.
